What is SOC 2 Type 2?

The Service and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 report is an industry standard framework to demonstrate a company’s commitment to keeping customer information safe and secure. It’s based on standards created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

A SOC 2 Type 2 audit is a rigorous third party evaluation of a company's controls related to five key principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

A SOC 2 Type 2 report not only assesses the design of these controls but also verifies their effectiveness over time through rigorous third-party evaluation.
